What is the most important subject area for school students? By Anonymous Smiley

Hi Gardening Friends Here is a another article by Anonymous Smiley. Read it and enjoy! Gardener Den What is the most important subject area for school students? Is it science, technology, engineering, math, or maybe computers, language, literature, world history? These subjects can be found in most schools throughout the United States or the rest of the world. What has made the U.S. stand out from the rest of the world? Isn't it our Constitution and political system, i.e., civics? Not just the federal Constitution and political system but the state constitutions and political systems and the local political systems. There is a duty that each of us has: to be part of an informed electorate, to participate. Even if you don't run for office, get informed and involved, and vote. Should these subjects not be required of every student (and citizen) and be taught in a completely nonpartisan way? Lack of knowledge of these subjects is a major contributing factor to what ails this country. How can the U.S. continue to stand out from the rest of the world and be unique if our constitutions and political systems are not ingrained in all of us? JFK said, “Ask not what your country can do for you — ask what you can do for your country.” Heed his words.
